Após 45 dias de alagamento, as massas secas do sistema de raízes e da parte aérea das plantas apresentaram-se significativamente menores se comparadas com as das plantas-controle (Fig. 1). Raízes adventícias e a regeneração de novas raízes laterais superficiais foram observadas em apenas algumas plantas.
